When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Expert in service of a powerful lord somewhere. He was an apprentice working in his father's forge. He became a plane-shifter, and is stopping over on this plane for a brief visit.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. Nirgel liked to wander the woods near his home when he was young, something he still likes to do at least once a week. He never liked modest clothing or shoes, so he would wander the woods barefoot and lightly dressed, and he developed a good sense of balance and learned how to climb and swim well. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Personality: While he acts the brute, he is far gentler than he would appear. He spends most of his days drinking in the Inn, the rowdiest and most dangerous establishment in town. There he gambles, wrestles and listens to stories told by travelers.

History: Ratanák was born in the east. At a young age he loved to build and create. His father disappeared, and while he tried to raise money to find his father, he was betrayed dozens of times. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his sons to still be retired.

Motivation: He would like to get married and retire; and he wants to get laid

Personality: He likes to make people angry or surprised. He is vehemently anti-magic. All of it is evil and corrupting in his opinion.

History: Trained by his father for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. His parents divorced when he was young, and his father gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. He hasn't been sleeping well lately.

Motivation: He wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and to get a good night's sleep

Personality: Deceptive and manipulative this northern guy figured out how to best use his charms to convince people to do what he wants. He is afraid of women and trembles around them

History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the north. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Navigator hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: His spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion; and find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister
