History: Melech lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. His arcane abilities were realized during a raid on his village. He has been saving his money to try and buy his brother's freedom.

Personality: While he is on the job, he is grim and serious. He understands how dangerous the world is and the need to stay safe. He is frequently practicing swordplay.

History: Trained by his father for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Ruler hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.

Motivation: He feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help; and he has decided he is irredeemable
