History: Lance was raised in a hard working conservative environment. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He now owns his own business.

Description: A man with a cold, calculating air about him, he wears tattered old clothes. His white hair is matted, messy, and big. His face possesses mild wrinkles. His smile is extraordinarily sincere though he does not smile often.

Personality: He believes mankind has become decadent and spoiled by the march of civilization and an end should come to life as we know it. He tends to be very friendly, and is drawn to music, the smells of food and wine, and out-door festivals.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. When he was little, his rather wealthy family often ventured across the mountains to a summer home near a large cave. He would wander through that large cave and adventure through it for days. One day while adventuring a terrible storm took place and he was stranded inside. His family spent the next few days looking for him, and could only assume he was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the mountains due to the painful memories there. Varis took refuge in the large cave and found the beat up kukri and armor he uses now. Since then, he has sought to make the best of life.
