Personality: He hates illithids. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. He is cautious and jumpy. He reacts to every sound and lacks any concept of subtlety.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. He took after his father in leading caravans. Because they were valued, his father taught him to defend himself. When his father died while fighting illithids, the young Halander began to lead the lost caravan. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Damien was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. Through the years after Damien was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Damien's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature morningstar.
