History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his father always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. He was one of the best in his class, and was picked up by his current employer. Recently a tribe of drow attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Motivation: To pay off his debts; and he made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it

History: Born the oldest of a large religious eastern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. He went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. He saw the violence of war and the aftermath so he converted to religion and dedicated himself to non-violence.
