Personality: Abrasive and pushy, he has a hard time making friends. He does not believe in violence as a means to an end. He is a dedicated Healer but believes his peers are too gung-ho.

History: He was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for him. It may also be what makes him so good at details. Through the years after Ombul was born, his mother became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Ombul's mother didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. After a long history of fighting, Ombul and his spouse have recently divorced.

Personality: He speaks before he thinks and is too direct. He is often prim and proper but will on occasion tell either really disgusting or offensive jokes, which seem out of character.

History: Darrow was born with his mother's beautiful face. In his 20th year, while out on a day-trip, he returned to find his hometown burning and destroyed. He found his mother impaled in their home, and his father beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. He now mingles about in high society.

Personality: Cocky and sure of himself, he believes he is the best Engraver born in the past three hundred years. The occasional robbery is his preferred attention getting crime, but he mainly uses his means for meeting his own perverse desires.

History: When he was but 7 years old his parents immigrated from the north. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Engraver. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Engraver.

History: Trained by his mother for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He has been helping groups of widows and orphans who have fled abusive spouses or lost their families to giants.

Motivation: He has a rivalry with the Church that dominates his actions; and he is compelled to act according to his religious beliefs
