History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. As a young adult he joined a group advocating for an improvement in Gnomish conditions. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Kaladan grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food.
