History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. As a young child he wandered into the woods despite his father's warnings against it. Afterwards he claimed he had encountered illithids who tried to eat his hand. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Many illithids want him driven away.

Mercenary work suited him well, and with each successful project, he earned more gold and more respect from his peers. After a long history of fighting, Skamos and his spouse have recently divorced.
