History: Bertram lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. A gifted student he started as a Shepherd, but he got bored and became a Ruler. He's also a talented Shepherd, but doesn't like to broadcast it.

Personality: A grumpy guy he will invite people to lunch so he can critique them. Yet he still seems generally likeable, like a lovable grump. He is kind towards other men and children and will generally offer men help without question. Others will generally need to prove themselves to him.

History: The child of eastern immigrants he idolized his father. In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. He now spends his time doing works of charity.
