Personality: He is a Cartwright first and foremost. He believes firmly that knowledge should be universal. Howard is a bit of a follower. Usually he is manipulated by his brothers into helping them out, but recently he has become more of a free agent.

History: Howard lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He has gone from town to town till he finds a spot where he can set up a sustainable business.

His fair skin shows little sign of his aristocratic breeding.

Personality: He considers himself a man of culture and sophistication. He likes a good challenge to his wits. He has zero loyalty and will suck up to whomever is within range, in the hopes of being moved to a better position.

History: He comes from a rich western family. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

History: The child of southern immigrants he idolized his father. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Humans in the south were limited. As of late he has set up a hidden staging nest where he ambushes people he hires for escort.

Motivation: He doesn't get along with people that don't share his tastes; and he has comitted a past crime that haunts him to this day
