Description: A man of a pale complexion, he wears tattered old clothes. His black hair is unkempt and raggedy. His eyes are likewise blue.
Personality: He tends to agree with only himself unless someone else's opinion sounds like he can profit from it. He tries to control his temper but he can't always stop himself from what he feels what must be done. He is stubborn though. He always likes to keep a trick up his sleeve. He likes to fight dirty and will kick and punch below the belt if he feels he even has a chance of losing.
History: He was born several months after his mother was called into army service. Ernest was a troubled youth. He spent his days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent his evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Ernest decided he wanted neither the life of his mother nor that of the evil petty criminals he associated with. During his early adolescence, he took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. Recently he has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.
Motivation: He feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help; and a rival would like him out of the picture

Description: What flesh remains visible is marred by burns. He is typically in his Shoemaker uniform. His auburn hair is long and unkept. He wears crescent spectacles with a black brim.
Personality: Quiet and reserved he prefers to listen than to talk. He will nod occasionally and communicate nonverbally. He is however nostalgic and wants to reunite with his old comrades. He has some compunction and patriotism and will work for the government before all other clients.
History: He was born in a small plains village. He was an adventurer many years ago and he formed a blood bond with his Gnomish companion (his 'brother'). He then took over the family business and is one of the better Shoemaker for hire.
Motivation: Balancing his hectic life and new Shoemaker responsibilities is difficult.

Description: He is well dressed, constantly wearing a pastel suit, black shirt, and tan tie. He carries with him a set of sickles on his belt, each one with a emerald on the hilt. He keeps his long black hair kept up in a rat tail. Judging by the bloodshot nature of his eyes and the massive bags underneath them one would imagine he has not slept for days.
Personality: In the realm of puns, he cannot help himself. He feels obliged to make them. He is however greedy and will demand payment and proof of collateral's value and will produce a merchant's scale to make sure he is not cheated out of a speck.
History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. In his formative years he discovered how persuasive he was. He began using that to his advantage selling useless wares at inflated prices. He hasn't been sleeping well lately.
Motivation: Retire the richest man in the west; and he wants nothing more than to rejoin the army

Description: Runty and weak-looking, he wears baggy pastel pantaloons and a green scarf. His black hair, when down, is lengthy. His face is scarred and worn.
Personality: He believes there is no problem he cannot solve with sufficient elbow grease and persistence, if it is the best or most economic solution matters not. He can see the true alignment of people by looking at them, and uses this to pass judgement.
History: He was born in a small mountains village. When he was little, his rather wealthy family often ventured across the mountains to a summer home near a old dungeon. He would wander through that old dungeon and adventure through it for days. One day while adventuring a terrible storm took place and he was stranded inside. His family spent the next few days looking for him, and could only assume he was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the mountains due to the painful memories there. Gardain took refuge in the old dungeon and found the beat up quarterstaff and armor he uses now. He was granted divine powers by his dying brother.
Motivation: Revenge; and meet up once more with his childhood friend

Personality: He snorts whenever he laughs or is feeling confident. His job bores him to no end. He has decided to make it more interesting.
History: He was born to a pair of big game hunters, but was frequently ill as a child. A serious injury left his mother unemployed and in need of constant care. His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm mother. In his journeys he found a malevolent artifact. He wishes to return this artifact and its corrupting influence back to where it came.
Motivation: He made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and a need for knowledge about a nearby landmark
