Rurik decided he wanted neither the life of his father nor that of the evil petty criminals he associated with. During his early adolescence, he took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. He was granted divine powers by his dying sister.

History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the east. Before the accident, he was one of the most outspoken anti-Half-Orc activists. He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Half-Orc doctor. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

He began using that to his advantage selling useless wares at inflated prices. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
