History: Trained by his mother for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. His homeland was ravaged by war and he spent much of his life rebuilding it. Recently a tribe of orcs attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Patrin fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Personality: He is a pretentious jerk insisting that modern society is full of problems and should revert to a simpler time. His respect, as difficult as one would find it to earn, is unwavering; those who more than prove themselves to him, a bar set well above any reasonable standard, he tolerates in varying degrees. Though less modest and more hasty in his reactions to snap at those who irritate him, Roger is combative with any and all who dare try his patience in the slightest.

History: Roger lived on a farm with his father, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Because his father participated in the massacre of their homeland, dire rats burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. He was preparing to flee to the west, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his mother from journeying west to reunite his family. He has made many enemies by not giving into corruption and outing many instances of it.
