History: Jak hails from a village terrorized by giants. His father had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

A freak accident while working with his Beggar father left him crippled. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: He was born to loving parents in a slum to the east. His parents were killed by giants in a raid when he was still a young child. The giants captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by giants. Aelar was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the giants.

Motivation: Revenge; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by giants, and he desires to right it
