History: He was born with several neurological imbalances, which makes sleep difficult for him. It may also be what makes him so good at details. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. After a long history of fighting, Peren and his spouse have recently divorced.

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. Because his mother participated in the massacre of their homeland, brigands burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. He was preparing to flee to the south, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his father from journeying south to reunite his family. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

Motivation: To find somewhere to settle down; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by brigands, and he desires to right it

History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. He found a children's book about a Human Expert who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. In his journeys he found a malevolent artifact. He wishes to return this artifact and its corrupting influence back to where it came.
