History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He was granted arcane powers by his dying brother.

Personality: The man has a huge range of feeling. He will range from being happy and joking with the occasional self put down to crying stating how he will be a better person from this day on. He never wears the same outfit twice, unless he absolutely has to.

History: Born to a Layabout, his father struggled to pay the bills. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Barkeep hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He left for the north, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: To reunite with his old friends.

Personality: He is always cheerful, even with a hangover, and is always willing to go through all sorts of trouble to help his friends. He considers everything a fun event and doesn't hold grudges. He moves from fascination to fascination almost instantaneously. If something can keep his interest for a month it is impressive.

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. In his 17th year, his parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Varis alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Born in the south to a Baker, Gilthur learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. He was an apprentice working in his father's forge. He inherited the family business which he has now maintained for 13 years.
