It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

History: He was born in the north. He was an adventurer many years ago and he formed a blood bond with his Tiefling companion (his 'brother'). He left for the north, certain he would find work there.

He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Interpreter. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.

History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. When Justin reached his early adolescence his Human father passed away. Feeling disconnected from the small nearby village afterwards, he decided to travel. His rounds led him into the Army with a few individuals who would become his life-long companions.
