History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his mother. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. Recently a tribe of illithids attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Personality: He's a bit of a prankster. He knows he is clumsy and seen as such and will often feign amnesia after injury. He has a cruel streak; something he gained from his previous mentor. He harbors resentment against his former mentor.

History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his father. He couldn't stand his childhood mentor and eventually formed a pact with his mentor's previously failed apprentice to rebel. When their plan failed the mentor lashed out against both of them and fled. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Personality: A deeply religious man he believes everything happens for a reason. He is motivated by money and will often try and persuade people to work for cheap. He haggles over everything, upselling his goods and buying cheap. He is persistent in everything.

History: Bernard hails from a village terrorized by gnolls. He took after his mother in leading caravans. Because they were valued, his mother taught him to defend himself. When his mother died while fighting gnolls, the young Bernard began to lead the lost caravan. He has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by gnolls, and he desires to right it.

Personality: Cocky and sure of himself, he believes he is the best Detective born in the past three hundred years. On top of that he is swayed by a pretty face, and while loyalty to his employer will always come first he doesn't like to hit women.

History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Personality: He is soft-spoken, optimistic and speaks nonstop, as he rather likes the sound of his voice. His demeanor is somewhat feminine. A friendly and beautiful Elf, he is rarely seen without a few beauties around his arms. Though a playboy in all rights, he is no lame duck.

History: Born the oldest of a large religious southern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. His father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his father was legitimate. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.
