History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

History: Heskan hails from a village terrorized by gnolls. His spouse left him for another, whom he beat to an almost bloody pulp. He did not win them back, but he came to a realization. To get what you want from life, you must take it. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to gnolls demanding more tribute than usual.
