History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Bertram was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. When he was little, his rather wealthy family often ventured across the plains to a summer home near a large cave. He would wander through that large cave and adventure through it for days. One day while adventuring a terrible storm took place and he was stranded inside. His family spent the next few days looking for him, and could only assume he was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the plains due to the painful memories there. Bertram took refuge in the large cave and found the beat up greatsword and armor he uses now. Recently a tribe of gnolls attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. He found a children's book about a Half-Elf Warrior who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He has been a successful dealer in antiques buying low and selling high.

Motivation: Meet up once more with his childhood friend.
