History: Bertram was born into a poor family. Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a Expert, to bring honor to his family’s name. When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Expert in service of a powerful lord somewhere. He was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature shortbow.

History: Sethrekar lived on a farm with his mother, near the main road leading to a nearby town. Sethrekar was born on a far eastern plains where he grew up under the tutelage of his mother, an expert Bookbinder. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Priest they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Bookbinder, and he later adopted a second son.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Bookbinder and was forced into it by his family; and balancing his hectic life and new bookbinder responsibilities is difficult
