The family never returned to the island due to the painful memories there. Theren took refuge in the large cave and found the beat up kukri and armor he uses now. He became a plane-shifter, and is stopping over on this plane for a brief visit.

He was taken as a slave by a traveling circus and forced to perform He was granted necromantic powers by his dying brother.

Motivation: He is currently in port desperately looking for someone to get him out; and he wants random interesting trinkets and junk, hates to throw anything away
