History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Uthemar grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Uthemar. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when dire rats swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. While studying, he fell in love. They married and had a son. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to dire rats demanding more tribute than usual.
