History: Aelar was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his mother was employed at, doing general labor. In his 11th year, his parents were killed by a brigands raid, leaving Aelar alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Someone believes him a fraud; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by brigands, and he desires to right it

History: He was born in the east, but his parents moved at a very young age to the north. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He left for the east, certain he would find work there.
