Motivation: He made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and he is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions

When his father died while fighting orcs, the young Aust began to lead the lost caravan. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.
