History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Alvyn grew up listening to his father's many stories. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

Personality: He considers himself the protector of his home. He feels this is his duty and calling. Jade is a bit of a follower. Usually he is manipulated by his sisters into helping them out, but recently he has become more of a free agent.

History: The child of a Cartwright, who enjoyed hunting, Jade was taken on many hunting expeditions. His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Cartwright they were divorced and he won custody of their daughter. He worked as a Mortician, and he later adopted a second daughter.

Motivation: Doesn't want to be a Mortician and was forced into it by his family.

History: When he was but 6 years old his parents immigrated from the north. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Bellfounder. He has achieved small success as a Bellfounder.

Motivation: A rival would like him out of the picture; and balancing his hectic life and new bellfounder responsibilities is difficult
