History: Sold as a small child to a wizard, Astar was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He moved out north to avoid the crime he committed. Recently he has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.

Motivation: He's looking for his big break; and he has comitted a past crime that haunts him to this day

History: He was born in the east. He moved from fad to fad and when he turned 15 he discovered singing. He remains aloof and afraid to be himself due to all the ideals others have placed upon him.

Personality: He hates brigands. He views them as having robbed his home of its proper glory. He is obsessed with a lost civilization.

History: When he was but 7 years old his parents immigrated from the south. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Fivin grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Fivin. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.
