Personality: He resents people who mock his appearance or him, so he has learned to be the meanest son of a gun. Hoshû enjoys physical pleasures, and is well known for his love of warm baths in the hot springs near the town.

History: Hoshû hails from a village terrorized by giants. At some point he was captured by giants and was tortured. After several years of this he finally managed to escape. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by giants, and he desires to right it; and revenge

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. He moved out west to avoid the crime he committed. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
