Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Miner they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Sage, and he later adopted a second son.

History: He was born in the west, but his parents moved at a very young age to the east. He found a children's book about a Tiefling Fighter who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He hopes to save up enough money to one day pay a cleric to cure him.

At a young age both his parents were killed in an accident. His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. He hasn't been sleeping well lately.

Personality: While he acts the brute, he is far gentler than he would appear. He will do just about anything if he becomes convinced it is for someone's true love, of this he is easily convinced.

History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his father. In his 13th year, his parents were killed by a illithids raid, leaving Thervan alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Some 5 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son. Heartbroken, Thervan never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his son whom he trained as his father had trained him before.

His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his mother's willingness to do anything to win. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and he possesses a valuable artifact that the thieves guild wishes to steal
