History: Conrad hails from a village terrorized by illithids. His parents divorced when he was young, and his father gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his father, who blamed him for driving them apart. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: Retire the richest man in the east; and balancing his hectic life and new marshal responsibilities is difficult

History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. His father was supposedly a charlatan fortune teller, but he insists his father was legitimate. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.
