He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He left for the east, certain he would find work there.

History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Ruler hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.

Motivation: He wants nothing more than to rejoin the army; and he has a rivalry with the church that dominates his actions

Personality: A skeptical and narcissistic man, Mugrunden's first love is himself. His second love is also himself. His home and work are filled with various knick knacks he has acquired through the years. He cares a great deal for his adopted teenage daughter.

History: Born to a pair of adventurers, Mugrunden grew up listening to his father's many stories. His parents were killed by illithids in a raid when he was still a young child. The illithids captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Drifting hails from a village terrorized by gnolls. When the war came and ruined his parents he was left adrift. He was a hard man then and has only learned to fight more as time goes on. He was granted divine powers by his dying brother.

Motivation: Many gnolls want him driven away.
