Personality: He takes his job very seriously, in part because he fears he cannot get a new one. He does not regard money as being a problem because it has never been a problem for him. He lives in a bit of an ivory tower believing all problems are one quick intervention away from being solved.

History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He has set out to sabotage the competition.

Personality: He is overprotective of those who hire his services. He is ready at a moment's notice to give into his darker urges. He is a real pyromaniac and does not care who the fire hurts. He often ends up burning people alive in the fires he starts.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when giants swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. In his 14th year, his parents were killed by a giants raid, leaving Varis alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Recently he has begun working with bootleggers and crooks.

Motivation: He has decided he is irredeemable; and he is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. He found a children's book about a Tabaxi Monk who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature quarterstaff.

History: His martial talent manifested at a young age. Aiming to upstage a rival house, his parents had him trained. His family was being driven out of business by several neighboring competitors. The mother sought out extralegal help and others began closing their doors. He saw this and took pride in his mother's willingness to do anything to win. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.
