Motivation: He doesn't get along with people that don't share his tastes; and he feels the way he acts is they only way to get by in the world

History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Erky was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He found a children's book about a Gnome Warrior who fought for good and justice and never realised it was just a child's story. He modeled his life after the story, seeing himself destined a hero. Perhaps he's slightly insane, or otherwise so mentally alien to the rest of the world that he plain doesn't fit in. He has drifted apart from his friends and has been working freelance. Each gave each other a copy of their signature bastard sword.
