It turned out to be an ancient artifact of some kind. He has done his darndest to repair it but it is currently non-functional.

Personality: A rambunctious noisy drunk he knows how to make people feel guilty. He also hits on women, regardless of circumstances.

History: He is the product a well kept family trust fund and as such has never really known need. He was an athlete and attended two major summer competitions. He never won. He has gone from town to town working and never settling down anywhere, but has fallen for a local Tailor. He hasn't told them the truth, but wants to settle down with them.

Motivation: To fight the greatest warriors and to fight in the greatest battles ever.

History: Trained by his father for as long as he can remember he had it drilled in his head that it was his duty to serve his country. The family's rival house kidnapped his sister with the intent that his sister marry their son to gain control of contested properties. He has since lost track of the people in his past.

He tries to control his temper but he can't always stop himself from what he feels what must be done. He does not regard money as being a problem because it has never been a problem for him. He lives in a bit of an ivory tower believing all problems are one quick intervention away from being solved.

History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. Through the years after Oskar was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the east. Oskar's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He is untrained/undisciplined, which makes him dangerous.
