History: Born in the east to a Ruler, Charles learned a great deal about his mother's area of expertise. In his 11th year, his parents were killed by a dire rats raid, leaving Charles alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. He then took over the family business and is one of the better Ruler for hire.

His partner is his best friend in the world. The two are very close despite being more or less each other's opposites. He would rather hide behind his crafts than deal with other people.

History: Gifted from a young age, Arjhan studied abroad. After coming to the age of reason, Arjhan took it upon himself to study the necromantic arts in their entirety; because of this, he was labeled a dark omen and banished from his homeland.
