When he came of age, he applied for a position with his town's local guard, looking to work his way up via merit and eventually become a Cleric in service of a powerful lord somewhere. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He now travels the world, in search of power and loot.

Srorthen was born on a far western mountains where he grew up under the tutelage of his mother, an expert Tanner. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

Motivation: He's repulsed by the PC; and he wants nothing more than to rejoin the army

Personality: He is quiet and anti-social and can barely make it a few minutes in conversation before his hampering stammer kicks in. He is afraid of women and trembles around them

History: Born in the west his family was never financially stable. Since his mother passed away years ago, his father had doted on him, and he came to think her himself as special and better than other people in town. A notion that was reinforced by his attractiveness, a trait in which he easily excels the other men of his town. Recently a tribe of gnolls attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Ar-Baruk fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.
