History: Dain was raised in a hard working conservative environment. His mother worked until he suffered an accident while they were digging through a hill for a new route. He had to support his now crippled mother and took his mother's old job. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and a rival would like him out of the picture
