His father worked until he suffered an accident while they were digging through a hill for a new route. He had to support his now crippled father and took his father's old job. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Armorer they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Masseuse, and he later adopted a second son.

In his 11th year, his parents were killed by a drow raid, leaving Aelar alone in the world. After a stint in an orphanage, he was adopted. Since then, he has sought to make the best of life.

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. When he was little, his rather wealthy family often ventured across the plains to a summer home near a large cave. He would wander through that large cave and adventure through it for days. One day while adventuring a terrible storm took place and he was stranded inside. His family spent the next few days looking for him, and could only assume he was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the plains due to the painful memories there. Flak took refuge in the large cave and found the beat up mace and armor he uses now. After a long history of fighting, Flak and his spouse have recently divorced.
