History: Born the oldest of a large religious eastern family, he was no stranger to responsibility. His parents were killed by drow in a raid when he was still a young child. The drow captured him, and made him a slave and general play-thing. He was beaten and tortured regularly, leading to his deformed appearance. History: A powerful necromancer made him what he is. When he was little, his rather wealthy family often ventured across the forest to a summer home near a large cave. He would wander through that large cave and adventure through it for days. One day while adventuring a terrible storm took place and he was stranded inside. His family spent the next few days looking for him, and could only assume he was dead when it came time to leave. The family never returned to the forest due to the painful memories there. Umpen took refuge in the large cave and found the beat up pickaxe and armor he uses now. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. A serious injury left his mother unemployed and in need of constant care. His family became saddled with debt trying to care for his infirm mother. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Dilettante.

History: Norkruuth was born to in a poor docking district. He spent his early days working in the same smith shop his father was employed at, doing general labor. Through the years after Norkruuth was born, his father became increasingly distant from his family, instead choosing to pursue power in the south. Norkruuth's father didn't care for him much, and the feeling was mutual. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.
