History: A child with a great deal of music talent his parents made sure he got the chance to thrive. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Norman grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Norman. He has recently gotten a pet goose that steals things from people.

History: He comes from a rich eastern family. His mother had invested heavily in several trade routes and wanted him to inherit them. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

History: Balam was raised in a hard working conservative environment. Balam was a troubled youth. He spent his days as a hard laborer instead of attending school, and spent his evenings with numerous mobsters and gang members. Balam decided he wanted neither the life of his father nor that of the evil petty criminals he associated with. During his early adolescence, he took a sudden opportunity while working the docks and commandeered a vessel that was left unmanned. He now owns his own business.

History: Born in the north to a Map Maker, John learned a great deal about his father's area of expertise. He helped his father out around the business and became quite the natural. He used his abilities to trick people and travel the world for free.

Motivation: Further expansion of business; and a rival would like him out of the picture
