He found his mother impaled in their home, and his father beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. After coming to the age of reason, Quick took it upon himself to study the divine arts in their entirety; because of this, he was labeled a dark omen and banished from his homeland. Due to his spouse's obsession with being a Performer they were divorced and he won custody of their son. He worked as a Herbalist, and he later adopted a second son.

History: He was born on a small isolated farm. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Map Maker hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. Some 10 years later his spouse died after the birth of his son. Heartbroken, Kody never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his son whom he trained as his father had trained him before.
