History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. Because his father participated in the massacre of their homeland, giants burned their ranch to the ground and forced them out. He was preparing to flee to the north, but the outbreak of war prevented him and his mother from journeying north to reunite his family. He used his abilities to trick people and travel the world for free.

Motivation: He has comitted a past crime that haunts him to this day.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. Before the accident, he was one of the most outspoken anti-Dwarven activists. He was mortally wounded, saved by a kind and fast-acting Dwarven doctor. He inherited the family business which he has now maintained for 15 years.

Personality: While he acts the brute, he is far gentler than he would appear. As he has aged he has sought to do reparations for his actions as a youth. He is also making sure that his compatriots who never received punishment for their crimes are brought to justice.

History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his mother. In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. Being a Cartwright kept his interest for a while, but then he became depressed and bored. So he turned to a secret life of crime, taking increasingly more risks and challenges.

Motivation: To fight the greatest warriors and to fight in the greatest battles ever; and he is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions

Personality: He never swears and excessively uses polite adverbs when speaking. As long as the job gets done he does not care how it got done.

History: The child of a Carter, who enjoyed hunting, Tree was taken on many hunting expeditions. Tree liked to wander the woods near his home when he was young, something he still likes to do at least once a week. He never liked modest clothing or shoes, so he would wander the woods barefoot and lightly dressed, and he developed a good sense of balance and learned how to climb and swim well. He routinely visits covens of witches but complains that many are fraudulent and lack true knowledge of magic.

He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to brigands demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: His name or reputation has been wronged in the past by brigands, and he desires to right it; and expand his business
