History: From birth he was tutored by a cruel and relentless mentor. In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. He left for the east, certain he would find work there.

Motivation: He is a bit of a kleptomaniac; and he feels that his past leaves him morally obligated to help
