History: He was born a particularly ugly child, much to the horror of his parents. His parents died when he was young, and he was unceremoniously dumped in the city orphanage. Baern grew up in the orphanage, tormented by the older kids and famished from lack of food. To avoid death by starvation, most orphans take to a life of crime or prostitution (often both), and so did Baern. Days after completing his studies, news broke out that his hometown was attacked by dire rats. Baern was horrified and prayed that his father was alright. However, he heard that his father had died fighting off the dire rats.
