He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

History: He was a bastard born out of an affair, and his mother always resented and mistreated him for it out of spite. He was married off to the eldest child of a minor noble. His spouse died of illness and he inherited everything. He was always very intelligent and has formed a secret society of freemasons.

Motivation: He made a deal with a demon which lead to his current lot in life, and he's becoming increasingly nervous about it; and to find somewhere to settle down

Personality: He never swears and excessively uses polite adverbs when speaking. He is a very good compulsive liar and kleptomaniac.

History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. He took every job he could get his hands on, but the opportunities for Halflings in the north were limited. Recently a tribe of orcs attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Halander fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Motivation: Seeks redemption; and a rival would like him out of the picture

History: He comes from a rich southern family. His family was turned out during the war. He and his family wandered south to less war torn lands. He knows his nephew is from a royal line that had remained secret for centuries, but promised not to tell anyone. So far, no-one knows but him.

Motivation: He is greedy; and he uses money and sex appeal to get what he needs

Description: This fat southern man has a bulbous nose and is renowned for his bright tan suits and hats. His skin is also unnaturally pale. His chestnut hair is smooth and relatively long. His blue eyes dart from person to person.

Personality: He will use flattery and sarcasm to attack and weaken his opponents. Despite his formidable combat skills he remains a coward. He has a small toy that he constantly fidgets with.

History: Born in a small village he learned the ways of the warrior from his father. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Priest. Some 3 years later his spouse died after the birth of his daughter. Heartbroken, Nicholas never married again. Instead he focused his life to raising his daughter whom he trained as his father had trained him before.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his sister; and sabotage a competitor
