History: He was born several months after his father was called into army service. He was part of a huge silver rush, which was taken over by a mining company. The company confiscated a lot of silver, but the shipment was lost. He eventually got the idea of being the protector of his homeland from reading books, and has made it his duty.

Personality: Quiet and reserved he prefers to listen than to talk. He will nod occasionally and communicate nonverbally. Despite his manner, he is extremely passionate and proud of his job, and he prides himself in being thorough and never missing a detail.

History: He was raised in a white middle class family as the only child. Balam was born on a far northern island where he grew up under the tutelage of his father, an expert Shepherd. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Description: He wears a weathered and beat up set of banded mail beneath an oversized black coat, and he perpetually has his quarterstaff ready. His moppish white hair is in a traditional bowl cut. His green eyes dart from person to person to random spaces in the air.

Personality: He has schizophrenia that causes him to hear things that aren't there and will sometimes respond to them. His brief stint in the army gave him the idea he was invincible and that he is the toughest man alive.

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. He always admired arcane-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. Recently a tribe of giants attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls. Veit fought at the side of some of the regions greatest heroes but was never overshadowed.

Motivation: To fight the greatest warriors and to fight in the greatest battles ever; and he wants nothing more than to rejoin the army

Personality: Abrasive and pushy, he has a hard time making friends. He is very protective of his business, his home, and his spouse. He is willing to work with less than legal methods but maintains the front of legitimacy.

History: He was born blind and as such lacked many opportunities for work. His father took him hunting and taught him how to get in the mind of other creatures. After a long history of fighting, Aura and his spouse have recently divorced.

Motivation: He is a bit of a kleptomaniac; and seeks redemption

History: He was born at the edge of vast plains. Over the years he perfected his riding and shooting skills. When his spouse passed he lost his only source of income but claims to his daughters to still be retired.

Motivation: A strong sense of loyalty to Gnomish people; and his relatives are trying to arrange a marriage
