History: He comes from a rich northern family. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: While he is on the job, he is grim and serious. He understands how dangerous the world is and the need to stay safe. He dislikes loud distracting noises, but is overall hospitable. His biggest love is that of knowledge and as such will purchase any books or pay to listen to tales that travelers might have.

History: A powerful necromancer made him what he is. In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.

Motivation: He is being blackmailed/forced/etc and this influences his actions; and marry his sister to traveling adventurers

Recently a tribe of drow attacked the village and all able bodies who could hold a blade were quickly armed and sent to the walls.
