His uncle (a powerful person with enemies on both sides of the law) took him in and had him trained in basic self defense. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Motivation: He will attempt to ambush and attack anyone he thinks he can take on alone and try to knock them out with non-lethal damage. If successful, he will try to sell them to his slave-trader contact; and seeks redemption

History: Born in the north his family was never financially stable. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: He grew up in a lower middle class home, but living comfortably wasn't enough. He always admired psionic-users and wanted to develop the talent, but never had the affinity for it. He has been saving his money to try and buy his sister's freedom.
