History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when illithids swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. A gypsy cursed him at a young age, leading to his ugly appearance. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: A deep hatred of illithids.

History: He was born the only child of a wealthy merchant. In his 13th year, while out on a day-trip, he returned to find his hometown burning and destroyed. He found his father impaled in their home, and his mother beheaded. He saw the man who walked out, and charged him in a blind rage. The man easily evaded and defeated him, leaving him to live broken and terrified. He now has a substantial network of resources ranging from contacts to ships to peers.

History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. Cursed with unlife at a very young age, Aerdeth has worked very hard to control his curse. He has built up a small fortune and can afford his own way.

Personality: He considers himself a man of culture and sophistication. He likes a good challenge to his wits. He tends to be very friendly, and is drawn to music, the smells of food and wine, and out-door festivals.

History: He served in the navy to pay for his family's outstanding loans. When he came of age, he joined a caravan that would eventually take him to the capital. He would practice along the way and, when he arrived, be apprenticed to a Herbalist. He has drifted from career to career and currently works as a Herbalist.

Motivation: Find a way to reverse the transformation of his brother; and an old rival family wants him found
