Personality: Aggressive, abrasive, and angry, Qualen embodies much of what other species detest in the Gnomes. He is kind towards other men and children and will generally offer men help without question. Others will generally need to prove themselves to him.

History: Born to a Soapmaker, his father struggled to pay the bills. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Baker hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He was betrayed by a partner and left for dead, teaching him a humbling lesson in trusting others.

History: His father raised him in a mountain cabin. His parents divorced when he was young, and his mother gained full cudstody. He was regularly beaten by his mother, who blamed him for driving them apart. After a long history of fighting, Rimmon and his spouse have recently divorced.

History: He was born to a wealthy landowner in a frontier town, living a normal and happy childhood. In his youth he was part of a gang. He got caught, but did not rat out his comrades and served his time in prison. He now owns his own business.

Motivation: A rival would like him out of the picture.

History: His parents moved while he was still in utero so he is the first generation to be born here. Nirgel abandoned his home at a very young age, living in the fields and plains. He survived everyday through hunting and stealing from passersby. He did whatever it took for him to survive. He moves from town to town, unable to find a place to settle.

Motivation: Meet up once more with his childhood friend; and a need for knowledge about a nearby landmark

History: A studious child he never was much for a social life, not because he was unlikable, but because he did not seek it out. Brilliant and gifted he never wanted to apply himself. He became a Sailor soon after.

Motivation: His spouse's relatives view him with great suspicion; and his relatives are trying to arrange a marriage
